While the Peanut Gallery productions are cast by audition, Beginning Stages is open to everyone of every skill level, and runs alongside and interacts with the Peanut Gallery program. Beginning stages is divided into two tracks: the Production Track, for those kids who want to explore behind-the-scenes jobs like lighting, costumes and scenery; and the Performance Track, for those kids who want to grow as a performer.

Kids who participate in the Performance Track will give a performance of their own the final week of the session. Kids who participate in the Production Track will be assigned crew positions for the Peanut Gallery performances. No audition is necessary!

When registering, please select to choose the Performance Track or Production Track for your student.

Performance Track: Kids will work on the fundamentals of onstage performance, including character-building, diction and enunciation, and theatre etiquette and traditions.

Production Track: Kids will explore the many backstage roles that make a play successful, including costumes, props, lighting, sound, scenic painting and makeup.
