Having a Birthday Party at Our Museum is Fun and Easy!

Let Midland Center for the Arts help make your child’s birthday extraordinary! Select a birthday party package that suits your child and we’ll plan a celebration full of discovery, learning and loads of fun. Party packages include a personal host and museum activities. 



Our Main Museum Birthday Party Package

  • Host your own party with this option
  • Use of a private Celebration Room for 90 minutes for 10 children and 2 adults
  • Includes tables with colored table covers and seating for 12 guests
  • Limited refrigerator/freezer space
  • General admission to the Museum for all guests, including parents. Valid for Birthday event only
  • Reserved room available 15 minutes prior to and after party for set-up and clean-up

Cost: $150


  • Additional party guests: $5/child; $5/adult (Maximum of 50 total party guests)
  • Additional 30 minutes in Celebration Room: $50. Subject to availability

Paint My Party

Have an art party and let us clean up the studio! Guests will paint and take home a master piece of the very own based on the whimsical and geometric styles of painter Embrace Wassily Kandinsky. Suggested ages: 5 & up.

3D Par-Tay

Our instructor will show young artists how to design, balance and create a funky 3D sculpture of their own based on inspirations of the famed artist Alexander Calder. Best of all you'll get to leave the mess clean up to us! Suggested ages: 5 & up.

Mad Science Party

Party guests will slip on their lab coats, secure their goggles and enjoy two fun and educational science experiments with our instructors leading the way! Suggested ages: 5 & up.

Victorian Tea Party

Host your very own tea party and play Victorian parlor games within the beautifully restored historic Bradley Home as you step back in time and discover what life might have been like for a child living in Midland, Michigan in the year 1874. Suggested ages: 5 & up.

Parties must be scheduled a minimum of three weeks in advance. Reservations are subject to facility and staff availability.

 

Households with Alden B. Dow Museum Family Memberships receive a $25 discount on all birthday party packages! In addition to this discount, members also enjoy: 

  • Free Museum admission year-round (Heritage Park also included with Family+ Memberships)
  • Discounts on Studio School classes and Gift Shop purchases
  • Special invitations to opening receptions and select programs
  • FREE or discounted admission to more than 300 science centers worldwide (details at astc.org)

Family memberships must be purchased or active when the party is booked to qualify for discount. We always have something new to see… do… learn… and explore – Get your membership here.

A deposit of 50% of the party price is required when reserving a date. Refunds will be made for cancellations made at least 2 weeks prior to the reserved date; cancellations made with less than 2 weeks’ notice will result in the loss of deposit. A $25 administration fee will be deducted from any refund.

 

Please provide us with your final guest list at least one week before the party. We need this information in order to check guests in as they arrive at the museum.

 

  • Outside food and non-alcoholic beverages are permitted
  • Parties are responsible for ordering their own catering, including cake and ice cream.
  • If ordering food for delivery, email our party coordinator at least 3 days in advance, so we can advise front desk staff
  • No open flames are allowed inside the building

Parents/hosts are invited to schedule a pre-party visit to view party space.

Cake/ice cream, battery-operated candles, serving utensils, bottled water, bags to transport gifts home and containers for leftovers.
