Country Artist Brings Acoustic Songs & Stories Tour to Midland Center for the Arts

Aaron Lewis, frontman of wildly-successful rock group Staind, turned No. 1 solo artist on the country charts, makes a stop at Midland Center for the Arts Feb. 13, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. as part of his nationwide Acoustic Songs & Stories Tour. Known for his outspokenness, impassioned live show and outlaw country tunes, Aaron Lewis’ tour launches following the release of his third solo country album, “State I’m In.” The 2019 release had its debut at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums, Top 200 Albums, and Top Digital Albums charts, his second consecutive No. 1 Country Album following the success of his 2016 release, “Sinner.”

The self-proclaimed “Northern Redneck” has been touring the country with his full band, which spotlights Lewis’ outlaw country roots. Attributing his success as a singer and songwriter to his painfully honest music, “my songs have always been me wearing my heart on my sleeve, and my emotions on my sleeve, and my misfortunes on my sleeve, my sins on my sleeve. I don’t feel like it would be genuine nor worthy of this crazy ride I’ve been on if it wasn’t,” said Lewis.

Throughout his more than two-decade career, Lewis has sold 13 million albums worldwide as lead vocalist with Staind, including the single “It’s Been Awhile,” which remains the most-played rock song of the decade. Variety magazine describes Lewis’ 2019 album as, “the aggro intensity that serves Lewis well in Staind translates powerfully into twangy, plainspoken country.”
